Festive Friday Blog Hop #4

Welcome to the Festive Friday Blog Hop hosted by Terri Sproul! You should have arrived here from:  Angela’s blog

For this simple card, I began with a piece of glossy white cardstock as the base.  I stamped and embossed the tree image on a piece of red acid free construction paper.  I embellished it with silver sequins and sewed on a silver star charm.  The sentiment was also stamped and embossed on a piece of green cardstock and attached to the card with pop dots.

Remember this?  It’s been bugging me because it’s just not right so I’ve been playing around with it.  I went back to the original article from a vintage magazine that had the patterns in it and I realized that they left out a step in creating this.  No wonder it doesn’t look quite right!

I figured out that you’re supposed to cut a space out of the beard section for the face to peek through.  This one, of course, hasn’t been embellished or anything yet but wow, what a difference that makes!

Thanks for stopping by!

Your next stop is Robin’s Nest  Full list of participants is below! Have fun hopping!

I’m a little late hopping, lol! Love the tree on your card and everything else you did to embellish. Looks so modern.

And the missing step with cutting the beard that you identified sure does make a difference in the piece. Way to go figuring that out.
